[Yeardley Smith's post to alt.tv.simpsons] From: Yeardley Smith Date: 18 Aug 1994
I am Yeardley Smith. I happened to be at a friend's house and peeked into the discussions on this board. In answer to your comments regarding the interview that was transcribed onto the board, thank you for suggesting my hair needed work. I've since cut it all off. And you'd be nervous too if you were appearing during the last three days of the "Pat Sajak Show" (which he'd already ditched) in front of an audience of people who are cheering and turning to each other saying "Who IS that?" The guest host was a guy named Jonathan Prince; I did a pilot with him and that's why he asked me to do this interview. After asking each question he kept looking over my shoulder as if the answer was behind me. I was beginning to wish that it was. By the way, I'm working on my storytelling skills, thank you very much. I can't tell a joke either. The interview was done in 1990. It may not have been a very good interview, but if my ship is going down, I'd prefer to sink it myself. So thank you for going to the trouble of transcribing all of my "ums." I hate to be misquoted. :)
As for the debate regarding my marital status, I'm flattered and relieved that you all finally reached a conclusion; I was beginning to wonder what I had been up to. :)
Thanks for the interest in my career.
Yeardley
