Q & A about Wildcat Productions

What is Wildcat Productions, anyway?

Wildcat Productions is currently a vaporware company involved in the production of fan-based works of all types, as well as freelance video production on a not-for-profit scale.

Who makes up Wildcat Productions?

Wildcat Productions is owned and overseen by Matthew Kurth, working with other independent artists and companies on individual projects as required.

How did all this get started?

Wildcat Productions began in 1990 as USS Menahga II Productions (don't ask about the name - it's a long story). M][P was involved in modifications and modules for the Commodore 64 based Image BBS system, many of which were well-received by the SysOp community. One particular module, M][P's Personal Signature System (+.PS-2) was even incorporated into the beta version of Image BBS v2.0 - a program which, sadly, has stalled in development and lies in limbo to this day.

In August of 1992, M][P's founder became the owner of a 1965 Buick Wildcat, and in just a few weeks, USS Menahga II Productions became known as Wildcat Mods, obviously as homage to the distinctive automobile, but also because it was less of a mouthful to say! By October, the owner's interests diversified into fan fiction and video production, and so Wildcat Mods became Wildcat Productions, and has remained as such ever since.

What major projects is Wildcat Productions currently involved in?

First and foremost, Wildcat Productions is in the process of "going legit" as a real company and acquiring production equipment, with the intent to move into the field of corporate informational/training videos.

On the creative side, here's what we're up to:

What plans does Wildcat Productions have for the future?

Wildcat Productions hopes to become a dominant player in video production in the Chicagoland area, and one day move into television and film production. Our greatest fantasy is to launch our own TV network, The Wildcat and do right by the fans of our future programs by not squeezing the closing credits or talking over the music. Oh yeah, we promise we won't let our affiliates put those annoying thunderstorm warning CGs (computer graphics) over your favorite shows either - we'll do that over the commercials instead!
